Wellingborough 15 - 31 Bridgnorth
Wellingborough looked to keep their good start to the season going. However the home team’s preparations were disrupted yet again as the match was reduced to 12 a-side due to the away team being short of players. To add insult to injury Bridgnorth also informed the home team captain that they had no front row players and would have to start the match playing uncontested scrummages, a tactic the opposition have employed previously this season. These changes meant that Wellingborough were left facing a very fast, lightweight side who exploited the extra space available despite some outstanding defensive work all round. Wellingborough’s tries were scored by Emily Underwood and Kerry York (2). The ladies next game is away to league leaders Lutterworth on December 7th. There was little to choose between the teams when they met on the opening day of the season and Wellingborough will be looking to reverse a 12-5 defeat.
