14 men beat Olney
Spirited display see's Boro A's win away.
The A team traveled a few minutes down the road to Olney with just about 15 men with the last player turning up about 2.00pm 15 mins before kick off. After a juggle around of players, Kieran to flanker, Tyler Ramoo to 9 and Adam Lambert starting at 12. With in 2 minutes of the game though Wally went of with reoccurring dislocated shoulder meaning the team went down to 14 for 78 minutes.
Boro played sensible rugby used their power up front with Adam Parker, Terry Keating and Alex Ayres showing the way. A solid scrum saw Tyler put pressure on the Olney scrum half and fly half and pounce on the ball over the line. Tyler soon scored again through some scrappy Olney play and converted by Rob Armstrong.
Boro had put a lot into the first half an new the younger Olney side would come back into it. But soon boro got the ball to Aiden McAvoy who has been prolific this season to score under the posts, converted by Rob. Olney did manage to get on the score sheet after Boro ran out of players in defence.
Boro dug in deep to keep Olney in their half with Oli, Josh and Jay putting in great shifts in defence and Fordham, Tom Meyer and JB keeping them pinned back. Boro finished the game off with a well worked try down the blindside with Alex Ayres putting in Aiden again in the corner.
This was a perfect example of 14 players and Wally digging deep for each other and urging bodies on the line for each other and the victory. Credit goes to all of you and massive thank you turning out for the A team.
Man of the match went to Alex Ayres for somehow getting everywhere and being dominate up front, making hits and setting up tries.
The next game is on the 16th December Old Scouts at home.
