Great Win for the Borough

Wellingborough starting the season off well

This was our first Cup game of the season and with low numbers we were very apprehensive, but with Bedford kindly loaning us a player we were able to play some great rugby.
This was a very competitive match seeing both sides working hard for the win. Chloe who has just moved up from the U15's wasted no time at all in scoring our first try. Bedford came back with 2 consecutive tries resulting in Wellingborough dropping their heads and nearly accepting their fate. Some words of advice were shared and the fight continued. Emily ran in a beautiful try followed by a great conversion in time for the half time whistle. Half time score 12-12

All to play for in the second half, the girls worked some superb moves and Emily touched down another score for our girls.
Bedford were not losing any strength or determination but we ploughed on and Jess our new recruit from Peterborough very deservedly put her name on the score card, beautifully converted by E .Mallard.
The glory began too soon for the Borough girls and they dropped their defence resulting in another 2 tries for Bedford. So not long left and only 2 points in it, the game is very exciting, a disallowed try for Emily caused some power amongst them all and Ellie secured the win with our final try. Final score 29-22
Some massive tackles from Jess, Chloe, Emily, Ellie and Rachel
superb strong runs from Beth, Jess and Emily.
Overall excellent performance.
Player of the match this week goes to Jess Wilson for standing out and shining in your new position.
