Team performance wins the day

Pressure defence and a huge team performance provides a winning formula.

Great morning of rugby this morning and a big thanks to Rushden for stiff opposition.

We're really getting there with our ambition to use pressure defence as a form of attack. We certainly didn't allow R&H to get into their game today and this is exactly what we're trying to achieve. Our defence hassled R&H into errors which we were able to take advantage of.

Nice pop passes and changes to the direction of attack when we had the ball in hand made it very difficult to stop us.

I can't praise the work of Harry, Jacob, Bobby and Emily enough. Their tireless work on and off the ball provides the platform for this team to perform. All were the cornerstone of our defence, and were a real hand full when running at the opposition. The work in the breakdown was often a result of their work and they too were often the ones tidying up loose ball.

Daniel W, Daniel R and Boris were really lively today and a very potent attacking force, crossing the line for several try's. A fumble from R&H saw the ball bounce up perfectly into the on rushing Daniel W's hands to provide my favorite moment of todays matches, as he scored in the corner.

When Jake has the ball in two hands and charging forward, he drags half of the opposition with him and makes huge gains for his team mates to take advantage of. He takes an awful lot of stopping, and if he is anywhere near the try line, he will score.

Ewen put in some big tackles and is really stepping up, and Kian and Darrell had big games today also.

This was a tremendous team performance against good opposition. Applause goes to the whole team for the way that they worked for each other. I am very proud.
