As the start of the 2013/14 season begins, we were invited to discuss the progress and development of women and girls rugby with Linnell and Kerry Leese
The Women's Premiership for the 2013/14 season has been condensed and will be completed by the end of this year, to enable them to focus on the Six Nations and the 7s circuit in preparation for the Rio Olympics. In addition to this changes, there will be no promotions or relegations for two seasons.
In the lead up to the women's world cup in France in 2014, and the men's world cup in England in 2015, the RFU is seeking to further increase participation of women and girls in the sport which ties in quite nicely with the aims of Wellingborough Ladies, but we need ideas, help and support from everyone in the team, the club, the community, the CB and the RFU, in order to achieve this.
