Boro's Junior Colts lose 100% Record!!
Thats it folks, the 100% record for the Junior Colts has finally fallen to an excellent Lutterworth side. The 17's have now played two and won one!!
Saturday was an excellent fixture away at a very strong Lutterworth side that contain several backs that dwarfed Boro's first team backs. The game started and only excellent defending kept Lutterworth at bay before the fly half broke through to score under the posts. He converted his own try. Boro then had a period with the ball but a handling error allowed Lutterworth to break away and again dot down near to the posts 14-0. It appeared that Lutterworth could run away with this game but with the last play of the half instead of kicking for touch and taking the half time whistle Ben Plowman and James Maher set the Boro backs away, excellent handling from Josh Anderson and Ryan Hodges led to Plowman breaking down the right wing and scoring in the corner.
The half time discussion was about cutting out the needless errors......
Second half begins and within 10 minute Boro concede 14 points! There was an interception try under the posts and then a wayward pass that led to another seven pointer 28-5. Once again the young Boro side upped their game, an excellent kick from James Maher led to Josh Anderson sprinting through and touching down next to the posts, Maher converting. Lutterworth then scored another uncoverted try before the Boro pack bullied their way over the line from ten meters out much to the dislike of the bigger Lutts forwards hence the slight disagreement - i blame the heat! This left the score at 33-17 however poor handling allowed Lutterworth another 7 pointer to leave the score at 40-17. Congratulations to Lutterworth and thank you for the excellent hospitality shown to the two coach loads from Wellingborough we had a great day. Man of the match for Boro was Josh Anderson, not only did he tackle all day against two lads at least twice his size but he even found time to escape and score! This was a fantastic game of rugby but showed Boro that basic errors at this level will be punished, we need more intensity for the full 70 minutes.
