Boro win final league game.
Wellingborough's 16's went to Long Buckby for the final league game and started on the back foot, Buckby missed a penalty in front of the posts before slotting one and scoring a try that was converted well in the wind. Boro allowed basic errors and indiscipline to spoil their game and the score remained 10-0 at half time.
Boro turned around and built their game as they played with the wind and it wasnt long before a try was created for Dom Shaw, Joel Richardson was unlucky to hit the post from out wide. The game swung to and fro from that moment, strong running from the Buckby winger nearly creating tries and one Boro player went the length of the pitch, beating players before chipping the full back and diving over the line as the ball bounced away from his grasp.... Ben that is three weeks on the trot now!! Buckby again missed a penalty in front of the posts as time ticked away before Boro's forwards powered towards Buckby's line through a series of drives that ended with Dom Shaw diving over from a yard out under the posts to allow Joel Richardson an easy conversion. So with 4 minutes to go Boro suddenly found themselves 12-10 up, the rest of the game was then played in the Buckby 22. This was a game that Boro somehow dug out, basic errors and a failure to listen to the referees voice nearly cost Boro dear.
