Wellingborough run riot against Casuals!

Wellingborough bounced back from their loss to Bugbrooke by destroying Casuals. An old face turned up being welcomed back to Wellingborough.

Wellingborough RFC 75-0 Casuals RFC

A great victory for the boys as they ran an incredible 15 tries past Casuals. Wellingborough dominated from when the whistle blew, putting instant pressure on Casuals- forcing handling errors and turnovers.

The game was played in 4 quarters allowing both teams to try new things. Wellingborough continued dominating as George Diggin was making some huge carries, which saw him make lots of ground and get brilliant field position. A few changes in the forwards, making some new calls and it made a big difference.

Changes were also forced in the backs due to the absence of Jamie Lewis, Ben Abruzzo moved to outside centre, seeing Brodie Nelson and Ryan Mantle on the wings. The boys all adapted well! Wellingborough finished the first quarter with a 15-0 lead.

The next quarter watched Wellingrborough score 5 tries to go 40-0 up. And from then on in Wellingborough continued to score tries. George Diggin, Ben Abruzzo and Tom Woods formed a trio and you couldn't of faulted the forwards in any way. As Alfie Plummer and Taylor Barden kept switching from of the bench both of them making a huge impact every time they came on.

Congratulations to Max Flexney on winning man of the match. He put maximum effort into everything and hit an uncountable amounts of rucks.
