Wellingborough Colts welcomed Towcester to Cut Throat Lane in a friendly fixture, Towcester scoring a converted try early on and then being fortunate to score a second after a clear knock on in midfield that saw both sides stop only for no whistle, Towcester recovering the ball and reacting quicker to no whistle!
Boro then began to put phases together and Ryan Hodges scored under the posts on his comeback, converted by James Maher. a lack of tackling then allowed Towcester to score but a breakaway also put Ben Plowman over the line for a half time score of 21-12.
Both sides struggled to gain the upper hand in the second half as injuries and the refs whistle led to the game stopping and starting on a regular basis, Towcester scored an unconverted try to lead 26-12 before James Maher scored a try for Boro for the final score of 31-17. This was a better performance from Boro despite the score line and at the final whistle Boro actually had 8 front row forwards on the pitch!!
