Boro's 15's went to Ampthill on the last day of the league season to play an undefeated side on a bright morning. Boro started well but came second in the hike to the pitch! Once the game started it was the Boro pack that continued where they had left off against St Ives as they bullied their counterparts in to errors and scored a try early doors through Dom Shaw. It was all Boro as easy inroads were made against the wind. Several try scoring opportunities were blown as the last pass didnt find its target. A couple of errors then allowed A's to use the wind and score two converted tries that were followed by Asha Roudette touching down to make the half time score 14-10 to Ampthill.
The second half then started and Ampthills new centre ran the length of the pitch twice to score under the posts 26-10 after 3 mins of the second half! Boro stuck to their task with Harry Gayton storming over followed by Dom Shaw for his second. Ampthill scored 3 further tries to make the final score 41-22. Boro never gave up and arguably it was the introduction of the centre that changed the game.
Training this week was well attended boys, 30 of you with no league or cup left this season shows that you are still up for the fight and want to improve. Lets stay at this level of commitment and be the best we can be.
