It was Wellingborough's turn to win the game on the last play this year after Buzzard did it last year. This was a good attacking game from both teams and the lead changed hands on six occasions. All the discussions and midweek training paid off as Boro were powerful in the scrum and rucked well to release their backs. An early try came from Tommy Smith showing great footwork and then two Buzzard tries were followed by one from Dom Shaw to make the half time score 12-10 to Buzzard
Boro knew if they cut out some basic handling errors they would be in with a chance. Tries followed from Asha Roudette and Harry Gayton but Buzzard also scored their final try right at the death. 24-22. Kick off was deemed to be the last play and some clever work from Joel Richardson and Ben Plowman recovered the ball allowing Dom Shaw to power over under the posts for a final score of 29-24. Good displays this week from Harry Gayton, Reece Kerr, Ben Plowman and Jake Garner. Man of the match was vice captain Morgan Skett who was simply outstanding.
