White wash win

Girls demonstrated top quality rugby which resulted in a white wash win

This weeks game really showed how the girls are coming together as a team. They are proving to be unstoppable and unbeatable. Some brilliant tackles by all the girls with Emily, Charlotte and Charlie putting in some big hits! Georgia Brock had a particularly good game, she was always at the ruck and always won that ball, she also made great work of the lineouts and just made herself a nuisance to the opposition a lot. Eva and Bex worked very well together putting some lovely moves and Eva was a great support player. Also working extremely well together was Amy and Lizzie, both being very fast and both putting points on our score board. Yazmin Crehan shocked us all with her nifty little kick and catch move, completely accidental but looked great none the less. Charlie Grimshaw had a great game putting in some good runs, stealing the ball and being very vocal and sorting out the team.
The girls had a confident win by half time and so used the second half to try some new things and although Boudicous gave a good fight we continued to increase the tries. Elizabeth Zadori had a superb game and scored her first try. The oppositions desperation to score just one try was becoming apparent and they managed to get the ball down to the right end, but Wellingborough were just not letting up. Even the ref wanted them to score and kept giving away penalties but whatever they gave we gave a little bit more. Just as they were moving the maul over the try line from out of nowhere came Courtney Dawson at full pelt with ball in hand and there was no stopping her. She cleared the ball to safety and ensured the white wash win.
