The A team started the game well with lot's of pressure on Oundle's line with Reece Parillion and Callum Ward making some line breaks but the final phase or pass never went boro's way. With both teams going at each other boro soon got some joy with a kick to the corner which was gathered up by Brendan Hulse who beat two defenders to go over the line.
The 2nd half came but boro let in an early try making the catch up harder work. But with Boro's scrum holding strong with Adam Parker and Dave Morgan leading the way and the lineouts working well with Rhys Logan and Alex Bean reading each other boro where soon again putting pressure on Oundle's defence. Aiden McAvoy who was outstanding all day went over to score under the posts with some neat hands down the line aiden found some space to strecth his legs and go over the line, converted by Rob Armstrong.
Boro soon got on the score sheet again with veteran Tom Meyer being on the end of a turn over ball from Ben Gardiner. The ball got passed out and again Aiden used his pace to beat Oundle defenders and Meyer was on had to dot down in the corner, converted by Rob Armstrong. Boro did not finish there with Ricky Beeston going over the line after some neat hands from the scrum between Dale and Paul Lambert putting in Ricky and converted by Armstrong.
The last 10 minutes saw Oundle score two more tries as the game opened up and holes started to appear and players where tiring. Boro made it to the final whistle with the win knowing they had left all they had on the field and showed great character to keep plugging away. There will be some sore bodies after this game.
